A Leather Arm Chair - My Personal Throne
I love my leather arm chair. My wife wasn't to keen on me buying this beast, I chose a rather large model. It didn't quite fit in with her master plan on decorating our living room. I insisted and she couldn't think up a strong enough reason to say no. So I now own my first, beautiful, very comfortable leather arm chair. Every guy should have a chair like this. After spending all week listening to the man and doing what you're told at work there's nothing like the feeling of coming home, opening a cold one and sitting on your own personal throne.
Every guy should get a chance to feel like the captain - even if it is only on weekends. All week long it's...
- put out the trash
- pick up the kid from daycare
- get to work on time
- finish that report
- stuck in traffic
- listen to the boss go on and on..
- listen to co-workers complain
This list could go on for quite a while but the point is that we need a spot (of our own) where these thoughts/voices are silenced. While sitting in my cozy chair I close my eyes, enjoy the moments of peace and just for a second or two feel like a king.

Captain Kirk
When I was a kid I was influenced by images of strong men and hoped to figuratively join their ranks someday. It may sound silly but one of them was Captain Kirk. And where did Kirk command from? A futuristic leather arm chair. Once we get past my ambitions to lead a crew of explorers, there are some tangible reasons for choosing a leather arm chair. The first being the durability of leather. My brother has a leather chair that was once owned by our grandfather. It still looks terrific, in fact it looks better today than it did when we were kids. Well protected and cared for leather will actually improve with age unlike fabric materials. The second reason for considering one is the styling. There is nothing that can match this look for a cozy den or living area - referring of course to the top image - not so much James Tiberius' throne shown below.

What a hoot! I love them for curling up in to read a book! My son used ours as a 'spare bed' for his overnight buddies.. Recliners are the best!!
